Every AskAide practice question is written by AI from the NCERT chapter you are studying, checked automatically before it is saved, and open to correction by the students who answer it. Here is exactly what happens, including what we do not do yet.
Our team uploads the NCERT textbook chapter as a PDF. The text is extracted and cleaned, summarised, split into its topics, and stored in a search index — one index entry per short passage of the chapter.
When a student practises a chapter, passages from that same chapter (and its topics) are pulled from the index and handed to a large language model together with the chapter summary. The model is told to write questions only from that material, tag each one with the topic it tests, and write a short explanation for the answer.
Each question must arrive in a fixed format. A multiple-choice question needs four options and exactly one valid correct answer; a fill-in-the-blank needs a blank and an answer. Questions that fail are sent back to the model with the reason and regenerated.
Before a question is saved it is compared with every question already in that chapter. Exact repeats — ignoring capitals and punctuation — are dropped, and questions without a clear correct answer are discarded.
The order of the four options is shuffled each time a question is shown, so the right answer is not always in the same position and students cannot pattern-match their way through a set.
Every question has a "Report a problem with this question" button, and every explanation can be rated. Reports go to our review inbox, where the team checks them.
They are generated by a large language model from the text of the NCERT chapter you are practising. The chapter is uploaded by our team, split into passages, and those passages are given to the model as the only material to write questions from.
Every question is checked automatically: it must have the right format, four options with exactly one correct answer (for MCQs), and must not repeat a question already in the chapter. Questions are not reviewed by a teacher before they are shown; students can report any question with one tap.
No. They are generated from the NCERT chapter text, not taken from previous-year papers.
Multiple-choice questions with four options and fill-in-the-blank questions, at Easy, Medium or Hard difficulty. Every question comes with a short explanation of the answer.
Every answer is saved as you go. For each topic in a chapter AskAide works out a mastery level — Weak, Learning, Practising or Mastered — from how many questions you have answered, how many you got right, how hard they were and how long you took.
AskAide uses large language models from established AI providers and switches models as better ones become available. The checks described on this page apply whichever model is in use.
